A new collaborative take on local racing… built to make time trialling more accessible, rewarding and exciting for more riders.
The GYCC TT League has long been part of the local cycling scene… but like many grassroots race series, participation and momentum can be difficult to maintain.
That is where the new GYCC Speed League comes in.
Created as a fresh collaborative evolution of the existing league, Speed League is designed to bring new energy to local racing… opening the door to more riders, more progression and more reasons to keep coming back.
Whether you are completely new to racing, looking to build confidence, or already love testing yourself against the clock, this series has been built with you in mind.
What Is The GYCC Speed League?
The GYCC Speed League is a six-round, fortnightly race series designed to reward more than outright speed alone.
This is local racing built around:
Progression
Participation
Performance
Your best five results from six race meetings count towards the final league standings, giving riders flexibility while rewarding consistency across the full series.
With points available through category position, target average speed progression, participation and bonus milestones, this is not simply a league for the fastest rider…
Anyone can compete.
Anyone can progress.
Anyone can win.
The more you improve, the more opportunities you have to score.
Built For More Riders
Traditional time trialling can sometimes feel intimidating from the outside. Speed League has been designed to change that.
With clear categories, a welcoming atmosphere and a progression-based structure, the goal is simple…
Remove barriers. Build confidence. Reward improvement.
Categories include:
Novice
For first-time racers and riders new to time trialling. Standard road bikes only, with a supportive and welcoming introduction to racing.
Club
For developing riders ready for more challenge. Standard road bikes, with clip-on TT bars permitted.
TT
For experienced racers and dedicated testers. Full TT setups welcome.
Target Average Speed Levels
Alongside category points, Speed League introduces Target Average Speed Levels… a clear progression system designed to reward personal development.
Riders earn points by moving up through defined speed milestones over time, creating a simple and motivating way to track improvement beyond just race finishing position.
This means every ride offers something to chase…
Not just where you finish… but how you progress.
