When people think about cycling events, they naturally picture the riders. The long miles, the finish line moments, the personal challenges and achievements.
But events like Pedal Suffolk Festival are built by far more than just the people on the bikes.
They are built by communities. By volunteers. By supporters. By the people who quietly give up their weekends to help create an experience others will never forget.
That is exactly why we wanted to shine a light on Chloe, Jane, Elle & Hannah as part of our Pedal Suffolk Faces series.
While none of them are cyclists themselves, they have become a huge part of the TPR event family over the years, volunteering their time at event after event to help run feed and drink stations across our rides.
If you have ridden a TPR event before, there is a very good chance you have seen them handing out food, topping up bottles, cheering riders on or helping create the warm and welcoming atmosphere our events are known for.
And often, those moments matter more than people realise. When riders are tired, battling the weather or digging deep through a challenging ride, a smiling face and a few encouraging words at a feed stop can completely change the mood of the day.
That sense of community is something we care deeply about at TPR.
Pedal Suffolk Festival is not just about the miles ridden. It is about bringing people together. Riders, volunteers, families, local businesses, supporters and communities all helping create something special together.
For Chloe, Jane, Elle & Hannah, that community atmosphere is exactly why they keep coming back. They love being part of the event environment, seeing people challenge themselves, watching riders cross the finish line and knowing they have helped play a small part in somebody’s day.
It is easy to overlook the people behind the scenes at events like these, but the reality is simple.
Without volunteers, events do not happen.
So from all of us at TPR, thank you Chloe, Jane, Elle & Hannah for everything you do for our riders and our community.
