Pedal Suffolk Sportive

Come and enjoy a tour of the heartlands of Suffolk from the spacious arena at Trinity Park, Ipswich ideally situated just off the A14 and A12. There are no dual carriageways s or highways on this tour of Suffolk however, as we head out of our private rear gate and meander through some of its quieter and less trodden paths and villages en-route to clocking up to 100 miles.

A very warm welcome awaits you at our event village which is shared (just like the fully signposted routes) with our PedalRetro enthusiasts on classic pre-2000 machines. Whichever ride you enter, we are with you every step of way with fully signposted routes that we have ridden and risk accessed ourselves, the peace of mind mechanical support from the experts at Pedal Revolution, fully inclusive drinks and lunch stops with our enthusiastic team plus our extraordinary bespoke medals and free souvenir medals.

There will also be plenty to see and admire around the event village in this augural Pedal Suffolk gathering and you feedback is warmly encouraged to help us create a new 2 or 3 day event with onsite camping and entertainment for next year as together we make Pedal Suffolk a regular calendar highlight.

Great Commeraderie

Expect a warm and friendly welcome from our team and your fellow riders whatever your age or experience, whether your riding a road bike, MTB, e-bike or any other!

We take great care and attention when planning our routes and our riders regularly praise us for finding interesting and safe routes. Unlike some, we design our routes with local knowledge, then drive, then produce detailed risk assessments which form part of our detailed Event Management Plan that is shared with local authorities. We then ride all our routes ourselves before erecting signage and final drive through for roadworks and closures a few days before the event.

100 Mile Route

An epic day out on your bike and one to remember as you pedal into the Suffolk lanes through our private cyclist-only Foxhall gate.

Head North towards Ashbocking where our friends on the 25 split away. We continue through Coddenham for our first drink stop with homemade nibbles at a charming traditional village hall at Winston. Then it is through the delightful town of Debenham (where our 50 friends depart) and onward North through the market town of Eye and the beautiful Hoxne.

After a breeze through Stradbrooke it is lunch at Brundish just before our 75 colleagues split and leave us. We then continue to Metfield and Peasenhall before we enjoy a drink and nibble stop at Bruisyard village hall (or you could call in the vineyard if you prefer!).

As we continue South we have a magnificent view of the castle across the mere at Framlingham where the 75 rejoins us, before we do a celebratory lap around Framlingham and up Market Hill. Next stop is the amazing village of Easton, where the 50 rejoins us. Look out for traditional thatched Round Houses and some of the best Suffolk Crinkle Crankle walls you will ever see!

We are now heading firmly back to Trinity Park but without the busy A12 or any of its junctions. We enjoy the historic market square at Wickham Market and an optional water only stop at the magnificent Old Emporium before negotiating Melton and Woodbridge, where the 25 meets us once again. Then it is a clever piece of route design that weaves us back into the cyclist-only entrance at the rear of Trinity Park via Martlesham.

This route is suitable to any bike as long as you are comfortable riding it for 100 miles. We introduce you to plenty of lanes and some flowing B-roads to help you keep momentum. There is also a few miles of busier roads as we pass through Woodbridge to avoid having to cross the A12 directly, We will support you every step of the way with FREE drink stops,  lunch and home-made nibbles provided as well.

Route Features

  • Distance – 102* Miles
  • Elevation – 3847ft
  • Start time – 8:00am

25 Mile Route

An enjoyable leisurely ride with like minded riders.  A great way to get started in cycling events and you can take all day to complete the distance at your leisure after the longer rides have left and sped away.

We follow their path until just before Ashbocking where we will turn right towards the absolutely beautiful village of Grundisburgh. Our routes passes the village green where you can stop and enjoy a traditional village centre and perhaps ride through the two fords if you are feeling adventurous!

We have laid on a refreshment stop with nibbles at Little Bealings which is motivationally nicesly over half way meaning its a shorter second half to the ride back into Trinity Park without busy roads via the cyclist-only rear gate.

This route is suitable to any bike as long as you are comfortable riding it for 25 miles. We introduce you to plenty of lanes and some flowing B-roads to help you keep momentum. We will support you every step of the way with a FREE drink stop with home-made nibbles.
