The Waveney Valley is a quiet, rural and beautiful landscape along the Norfolk-Suffolk border and hugging the river Waveney.
But Suffolk is all flat, isn’t it? How can it be a hill seeker?
At TPR Events, we love an early-season challenge, and we have designed a route that has more elevation gain than riding the most famous Tour de France mountain climb – Alpe D-Huez. You can expect relentless short and sharp rises on the 100-mile route of nearly 4,000 feet in total. Now that is an early-season challenge on Suffolk’s narrow lanes!
With routes of 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles, there’s something for everyone, no matter your experience or bike type. Each route is fully signposted, risk-assessed, and supported by the friendly TPR Events team.
Longer routes include a complimentary lunch, and all riders enjoy free hydration and snack stations. Expect cyclists of all kinds—road bikes, e-bikes, tandems, and more—celebrating Norfolk’s stunning countryside.
Routes
At TPR Events, we’re dedicated to creating the best routes for riders to enjoy. Every route is carefully plotted, analysed, risk-assessed, tested, and fully signposted, giving you the confidence to ride with peace of mind. Plus, all routes will be available to download as GPX files, providing turn-by-turn directions on your phone or GPS device. GPX files will be available a few days before the event, after our final checks for road closures and obstructions.
For the Waveney Hillseeker 2026, we will be crafting 4 exciting routes to offer something for every rider:
100 Mile
75 Mile
50 Mile
25 Mile
We are currently working hard to craft some unforgettable routes for you to enjoy. Once we have ridden them ourselves and are completey happy with them, we’ll share them with you all. Check back soon!
What bike is suitable?
The Waveney Hillseeker is a road event predominatley set on rural country roads, where the road surface isn’t as smooth as we’d always like it. There will be plenty of short sharp decents and rolling roads.
Any servicable road bike with good brakes is capable of riding this event. Road bikes, e-bikes or gravel bikes with at least 28-32mm tyres will be ideal for this event. Sorry, we can not recommend this event for hand cycles unless you are a very experienced hand-cyclist.
