Firstly, I trust that you had a safe journey home from Brands Hatch, I was pleasantly
surprised that I got home without much of a delay at the Dartford crossing.
I was absolutely delighted, as were MSVR, with the number of Sensational7s entries. A race
at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit is a rare treat indeed. It is one of my favourite circuits
to compete on with its mixture of fast and slow corners, long straights and undulating
surface. Being old school, is also narrow which adds to the experience of racing
on this iconic circuit that is Brands Hatch GP.
Through the years I have been privileged to watch Formula 1 Grand Prix, BOAC 6-hour
races, drivers like Sir Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, Jonny Herbert, Derick Bell, Stephan
Belloff, Jacky Ickx in both Formula 1 and prototype sports cars, to mention a just a
few. I have also seen Colin Chapman and Ken Tyrrell walking down the pit lane in front
of the garages towards the garage were the Brabham BT46 (Fan Car) was housed. When
one Bernie Ecclestone noticed that he had two visitors heading towards his Brabham the doors were slammed shut by team manager and owner Berni Ecclestone. Colin Chapman and Ken Tyrrell walked away laughing. Great memories which all come flooding back when racing at Brands Hatch on the GP circuit. I am showing my age now!
Anyway, back the race report…. Qualifying, passed without incident, all the S7’s competitors feeling their way as it had been a long time since the last time they had raced on the GP circuit.

I must thank you personally for supporting the Sensational7s. Competitors so far have come from
Northern Ireland, Ireland and all over the UK. For a brand new series we have bucked the trend of shrinking grids and we are proving that a series ran by competitors for competitors is what competitors want! I have received an email from MSVR declaring that Sensational7s would have a home with MSVR in the future if the series can provide sustainable number of regular competitor entries. Brilliant news! Let’s keep it going…
So please, continue to encourage your friends with seven type cars
such as Caterham’s, Westfield’s, Tiger’s, MK’s etc to come and join the fun in a series designed by competitors for competitors that provides fast close racing while maintaining a high level of driving standards.
